    Testimonials

There’s something special about Oyster Park Primary Academy. It’s the sense of belonging, the warmth of the people, and the shared belief that every pupil can achieve their very best. Our academy is filled with pride, ambition, and care, a community where every day, staff and pupils work together to create something truly special: a place where everyone feels supported, inspired, and proud to belong.

    E Arnold (EYFK/KS1 Lead)

I began working at Oyster Park as a Newly Qualified Teacher in 2018. Working at Oyster Park is incredibly rewarding, both professionally and personally. From the moment I joined, I felt part of a supportive and welcoming team that genuinely values collaboration, wellbeing and professional growth.

One of the greatest benefits is the positive school culture. Staff work closely together, sharing ideas and supporting one another to provide the best possible learning experiences for our pupils. There is a real sense of community, where everyone's contributions are valued and celebrated.

The school is also committed to staff development, offering high-quality training and opportunities to develop new skills and take on leadership responsibilities. I feel encouraged to continually improve my practice and pursue my career aspirations.

Most importantly, the children make every day worthwhile. They are enthusiastic, resilient and eager to learn, and it is a privilege to play a part in their educational journey. Seeing pupils grow in confidence, achieve their goals and develop a love of learning is what makes working here so special.

    B Johnson (Specialist Teaching Assistant)

I feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of the Oyster Park family for the past 14 years, working alongside dedicated colleagues to make a positive difference to children's lives every day.

What makes Oyster Park so special is the strong sense of belonging we create for both pupils and staff, ensuring everyone feels valued, supported and included. As a Teaching Assistant, I have had the privilege of supporting pupils with a wide range of learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Through positive relationships and a nurturing approach, we help children develop the confidence, resilience and self-belief to overcome challenges, embrace a growth mindset and achieve things they never thought possible. Seeing pupils thrive, celebrate their successes and truly feel that they belong is what makes Oyster Park such a rewarding place to work.

    B King (UKS2 Lead)

Working as a primary school teacher is an incredibly rewarding role, and I feel privileged to be part of such a special school community. Every day, I strive to embrace our school values of Care, Aspire and Succeed, ensuring that every child feels valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their very best.

One of the greatest joys of my job is watching the children grow in confidence and independence. Seeing them develop academically, socially and emotionally is something I am incredibly proud to be part of. I feel very lucky to play a role in preparing our children for the next stage of their learning as they move on to high school, helping them leave with the knowledge, skills and resilience they need to flourish.

As Maths Lead, I am especially proud of the journey we have been on as a school. It has been wonderful to see children develop a genuine enjoyment of mathematics, becoming confident, curious mathematicians who are willing to reason, problem-solve and challenge themselves.

Our school is built on warm, positive relationships, and that is what makes it such a special place to work. There is a real sense of warmth throughout the entire school community, and I have always felt supported by colleagues who are dedicated, caring and passionate about making a difference. The staff consistently go the extra mile to provide the very best care and opportunities for every child, ensuring they feel safe, happy and inspired to learn.

I am proud to be part of a school where every member of the community works together with a shared commitment to helping children succeed, and I feel incredibly fortunate to contribute to their learning journey every day.

    S Keighley (Teaching Assistant)

Working as a Teaching Assistant and Breakfast Club supervisor at Oyster Park Primary Academy is such a rewarding experience. Over the past 34 years I have worked across a range of year groups, from Nursery to Year 6 where I have developed a range of skills, undertaken professional training and gained valuable experience in supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.

I feel very proud to be a part of Oyster Park with its supportive staff and amazing children. I look forward to coming to work everyday to see the children progress academically and emotionally. I put my heart into everything I do at Oyster Park supporting the children to be the very best they can in everything they do.

    Skyla, Year 2

I enjoy coming to school because I get to learn new things every single day. The adults in school are kind and caring and they help me to do my best. At school I get to go on lots of different trips, and we take part in lots of interesting workshops.

    Erin, Year 3

Throughout my time at Oyster Park Primary Academy, all my teachers have been wonderful. They really care about me succeeding at school and reaching my full potential. They plan exciting and engaging lessons for us and help us to understand the curriculum. I really enjoy all the workshops at Oyster Park, particularly the Dancing through Books and RE workshops we take part in. Taking on the responsibility of school councillor makes me feel really proud as it gives me the opportunity to use my voice about how we can make Oyster Park better for children and staff.

    Aria, Year 3

Here at Oyster Park Primary Academy, I always feel safe, inspired and successful. All the teachers at Oyster Park provide me with a high quality education and always support me to make it easier to learn. I enjoy spending time with my friends at school and learning new things together. I enjoy a number of different subjects here at Oyster Park including learning to play the Djembe drums in Music and taking part in poetry workshops when we learnt to write and perform Kenning poems to the rest of the school. I feel proud every day to be a student at Oyster Park.

    Kenzie, Year 4

At Oyster Park Primary Academy, the teachers help us understand our learning by breaking it down into smaller steps. My favourite thing I have learned about is the past because I find history fascinating. I have also enjoyed lots of exciting opportunities, including swimming lessons, visiting Murton Park and taking part in enrichment workshops throughout the year.

    Ivey, Year 5

Throughout my time at Oyster Park, I have grown in confidence both personally and academically. One of my proudest achievements has been being selected as a Reading Ambassador, a role that I thoroughly enjoy and take great pride in.

I love encouraging younger children to read more and helping them develop a lifelong love of books. As part of my role, I enjoy welcoming visiting authors and supporting reading for pleasure events across the school. I also enjoy sharing book recommendations with my teachers and discussing the stories and authors I have discovered.

Being a Reading Ambassador has given me many opportunities to speak with visitors about reading and to share the knowledge I have gained across different areas of the curriculum. These experiences have helped me become a more confident communicator and have strengthened my enthusiasm for learning.

The teachers at Oyster Park are always supportive and encourage every pupil to achieve their very best. They provide help whenever it is needed and genuinely care about our success and wellbeing.

Our school values of Care, Aspire and Succeed are at the heart of everything we do. These values inspire me to work hard, challenge myself and continue striving towards my goals. I am proud of what I have achieved during my time at Oyster Park and feel confident that the skills and experiences I have gained will help me pursue my future aspirations.
